Very Angry plush Birds

After the Angry Birds Flash Mob in London I had another blog post pending for the fans of Finnish developer Rovio. This morning Royal Mail decided to pull itself together and deliver my order from the Angry Birds shop. I know the guys at Rovio Mobile are better at coding than stuffing plush toys, and since the shop was launched, they have been struggling to cope with the unexpected demand. I originally placed my order on December 2 and received a notification on the 16th advising me that "due to unforeseen demand for Angry Birds plush toys, our logistics and customer service have been overwhelmed" and that I would receive the order in January. For my surprise, the plush toys were shipped on December 21, ready to hit Christmas Eve. However, Royal Mail could not deliver them until this morning after a failed attempt on the 24th. Bad luck!

Santa had to leave an apology not under the tree, but it has been worth the wait. The Angry Birds plush toys are humongous to the point that I don't have desk space to put them. Rovio is selling a 16" red bird for a premium of $59.99, which I wouldn't know what to do with. The plush toys are made  by a New York based toy manufacturer, use quality materials, have the original shape and capture the expression of the genuine franchise characters.

I am also the lucky owner of a limited edition slingshot toy that makes sounds, but it is much smaller and I must admit its shape and design doesn't feel as genuine as the bigger plush toys (see the comparison pictures.) I have already given one as a Christmas present to an Angry Birds junkie, but I still don't know what to do with it. Should I swap it, sell it or just give it away to AppFreak readers? Let me know in the comments!

By the way, I am waiting for the delivery of extra Angry Birds plush toys, which were introduced a bit later and decided to buy after my original order. The pigs! I promise to share some pictures when the villains get home. The shop has different models of birds in 5", 8" and 16" sizes with prices ranging from $11.99 to the extreme $59.99.
